HIGH-END MANUFACTURING PROCESS

Steel Casting Process Described by AGICO

Moulding

Sand moulding.

Melting

The melting stage uses controlled pouring, with metal analysis checked using a computer-linked spectrograph.

Heat Treatment

Heating above AR3, austenitising at approximately 915°C and controlled furnace cooling; intermediate holding at 600–630°C and completion of furnace cooling to 300°C.

04

Fettling and Dressing

Fit-for-purpose inner-surface finishing removes relevant surface discontinuities. Castings are descaled by shot blasting and the outside is coated for transportation.
